Savannah M – Boyd County

This fiber art contribution to the Felting the Future project was created by Savannah M of Boyd County, who also shared the following reflection:

What is your hope for the future?

My hopes for the future is that more people start caring more about others and can work together so that everyone can live their lives as their authentic self, without fear.

Describe a time when you had to work hard to find hope and resilience.

It is hard in our current political climate to feel like there are still good people out there. The meanest people are the loudest, but there are still so many kind-hearted people. <3

What advice would you offer to a younger version of yourself?

Things work out the way they are supposed to

What wisdom do you hope your future self carries with her/them?

I hope that I am always kind to others and don’t let the negativity of the world cause me to live in seclusion. I want to continue to connect with all types of people.

Felting the Future is a participatory art project that is bringing together 500 Kentuckians to imagine and shape a hopeful vision of what lies ahead. Using the ancient technique of felting, participants of all ages and backgrounds are creating handmade pieces that will be joined into one large, colorful installation, which will tour the Commonwealth beginning this fall. This project is coordinated by artist Kris Grenier (@krisgrenierart) and supported by the Kentucky Foundation for Women (@kyfound4women).
