B. Getting Started
Your kit includes:
- Wool roving
- Textile embellishments
- Bubble wrap
- Mesh/netting
- Olive oil soap
- Felting foam
- Felting needles
- Embroidery needle
You’ll also need:
- Bowl of warm water
- Scissors
Step 1: First wool layer (horizontal)
Pull thin tufts of wool and lay fibers left-to-right. Keep even and thin.
Step 2: Second layer (vertical)
Lay fibers up-and-down.
Step 3: Third layer (horizontal, visible colors)
Choose colors for your background. Lay fibers side-to-side.
Step 4: Fourth layer (vertical, visible colors)
Repeat with fibers top-to-bottom.
Step 5: Add embellishments
Optional: ribbons, viscose, fabric scraps. Tuck loose wool over ends to secure.
Now that your fibers are arranged, it’s time to start felting!
